Two quarterbacks who have started five Super Bowls between them will square off in Sunday's Steelers-Seahawks game. And while both Ben Roethlisberger and Russell Wilson and their teams were prominently mentioned in the offseason as potential Super Bowl 50 contenders, both teams have quite a bit of work to do for their quarterbacks to reach another Super Bowl this season.

CBS will regionally televise the Steelers-Seahawks game from CenturyLink Field in Seattle at 4:25 p.m. Eastern Sunday. Pittsburgh had a bye before the Steelers-Seahawks game, while Seattle whipped San Francisco, 29-13, to get back to the .500 mark. The two-time defending NFC champions have not been over .500 yet this season.

The Steelers and Seahawks have a combined 11-9 record going into their match Sunday, and both teams are multiple games out of first place in their divisions with six games remaining.

Roethlisberger missed a few weeks early in the season with injury, and Pittsburgh struggled, sitting at 4-4 at the midpoint of the season. But in the its past two games leading into Steelers-Seahawks game, Pittsburgh has defeated Oakland and Cleveland, scoring a combined 68 points, which is its highest scoring output in back to back games this season.

Wilson, meanwhile, has started all 10 Seattle games, but he has not had a 300-yard passing day yet as defenses have bothered him with blitzes. After throwing only two touchdown passes in the first nine games against a blitz though, Wilson had two TD passes against the blitz in the first half against San Francisco, giving him some confidence entering the Steelers-Seahawks game.

The Steelers and Seahawks are tied 8-8 all-time in regular season games, but Pittsburgh won the only postseason meeting between the two teams, claiming Super Bowl XL, 21-10, against Seattle. Roethlisberger was Pittsburgh's quarterback that day, completing only 9 of 21 passes for 123 yards with two interceptions, but he had a rushing TD and Antwaan Randle El threw for a score on a trick play to win the Steelers-Seahawks Super Bowl game.

Roethlisberger is 2-1 in Super Bowl appearances. Besides the win against Seattle in Super Bowl XL, Roethlisberger threw for 256 yards and a score as Pittsburgh won Super Bowl XLIII against Arizona, 27-23. Roethlisberger and the Steelers fell in Super Bowl XLV against Green Bay, 31-25.

Wilson led Seattle to its first ever NFL championship in Super Bowl XLVIII, defeating Denver, 43-8. Wilson had 206 yards and two touchdowns in that game. Seattle returned the following year to Super Bowl XLIX last season, but the Seahawks fell to New England, 28-24. Wilson threw an interception in the closing seconds at the goal line to effectively end the game.
