When the Ravens and Browns played in Week 5 of the NFL season, Cleveland pulled off a surprising upset road win in overtime, 33-30, and hopes were high in Cleveland behind quarterback Josh McCown's strong start to the season.

What a difference a few weeks makes. Cleveland hasn't really been competitive since a Week 6 overtime home loss to Denver, having lost five straight games and having switched quarterbacks before the Week 12 Ravens-Browns game on Monday Night Football.

Baltimore will have its own quarterback problems for the Ravens-Browns game, as Joe Flacco suffered a knee injury last Sunday, and he'll miss the remainder of the season. Backup Matt Schaub will start the Ravens-Browns contest.

The Ravens-Browns MNF game will kick off from FirstEnergy Stadium in Cleveland at 8:30 p.m. Eastern Monday on ESPN. Cleveland had its bye last week, so the Browns will have had two weeks to prepare for the Ravens-Browns game.

Cleveland at 2-8 has crashed to the bottom of the AFC North standings leading into the MNF Ravens-Browns contest. Meanwhile, Baltimore has shown a bit of life in the last few weeks. Even though the Ravens have a 3-7 record, they have won two of three games before the Ravens-Browns contest.

The Browns are expected to start Johnny Manziel at quarterback in the Ravens-Browns MNF game. Manziel played a lot in the first two weeks of the season before McCown took over as the starter. But now that they're out of playoff consideration, Cleveland's administration has decided to give Manziel a chance to prove himself over the final couple of months of the season. In his two most recent starts, in which the Browns were outscored 61-19 by the Bengals and Steelers, Manziel threw for 540 yards with two touchdowns and one interception. He also rushed for 48 yards in the two games.

In the first Ravens-Browns game this season, Cleveland won behind McCown's 457 yards passing and two touchdowns. Cleveland's 33 points in that win was its best offensive output against the Ravens since 2007 and its best scoring total this season. That game also marked Cleveland's only outright win this season as a point spread underdog.

Baltimore has dominated the Ravens-Browns series over the years, 24-9, which of course is particularly frustrating to Cleveland fans, who saw their Browns relocate to Baltimore and become the Ravens in the 1990s, leaving Cleveland without football for a few years before the city received an expansion team in 1999.
