TIME – 8 p.m. Eastern

Two teams in the thick of the chase for top four seeds and home court advantage in the Eastern Conference playoffs will be featured on ESPN’s Friday Night NBA double header in the Heat-Raptors game.

ESPN will televise the Heat and Raptors game at 8 p.m. Eastern from Toronto as part of its Friday Night NBA double header. The second game of the night on ESPN will be Indiana and Golden State.

Both Miami and Toronto are several games over .500 in the Eastern Conference as the NBA’s midpoint approaches. While both teams are a handful of games behind first-place Cleveland, the Heat and Raptors are very much in the running for a high seed in the playoffs.

Miami is one of the NBA’s best defensive teams through the first half of the 2015-16 NBA season, allowing just shy of 95 points per game. Only San Antonio allowed fewer points per game through the early portion of the season.

Entering the Heat-Raptors game, Toronto has a point differential per game of about plus-3.5 points, which ranks in the top three in the NBA’s Eastern Conference.

The Heat and Raptors split their first two meetings this season, which both were in Miami. The Heat won at home against Toronto Nov. 8, 96-76, as Miami overcame a halftime deficit. Chris Bosh led the Heat in the first game, scoring 23 points and collecting eight rebounds. Hassan Whiteside added 20 points and 11 rebounds for Miami. The Heat outrebounded the Raptors, 48-38, in the game. Toronto’s bench was outscored, 33-14.

Toronto turned the tables in the second meeting on Dec. 18, winning 108-94. The Raptors overcame a halftime deficit in the second game, as five players scored at least 13 points for Toronto. DeMar DeRozan led the Raptors with 30 points. Bismack Biyombo had 13 rebounds for the Raptors, who won the rebounding battle, 38-34. The Toronto bench cut the scoring deficit it suffered in the first meeting, but it was still outscored by the Miami bench in the second game, 27-19.

Miami leads the all-time Heat-Raptors regular-season series, 49-24. Miami has won in six of its last seven trips to Toronto.
