Giants vs Redskins Week 3 NFL Network Pick

After the Redskins and Giants both suffered messy losses in Week 1, Washington rebounded well in Week 2, while things didnt get any better for the Giants. New York will have to try to bounce back on Thursday Night Football in the Redskins-Giants game.

CBS and the NFL Network have the national TV co-broadcast at 8:25 p.m. Eastern from MetLife Stadium for the Redskins-Giants TNF game.

Itll be Washington that will have some momentum going into the short preparation week for the Thursday Night Football Redskins-Giants game. In its Week 1 effort, Washington moved the ball well against Miami, but only scored one touchdown and coughed up a fourth-quarter lead on a Miami punt return for a touchdown in a 17-10 loss for the Redskins.

New Yorks Week 1 loss was even tougher to take, as the Giants botched clock management in the final 2 minutes, giving Dallas enough time to drive the length of the field for a late touchdown to upend New York, 27-26.

And while it looked like both the Redskins and Giants were going to bounce back well in Week 2, only Washington could figure out how to close out the win.

For the second straight week there will be plenty of pointed questions for the New York coaching staff leading up to the Redskins-Giants game, as New York coughed up a lead late for the second straight week. New York led 20-10 entering the fourth quarter at home against Atlanta, but the Falcons scored twice in the fourth quarter, including the game-winning TD with 1:14 remaining for a 24-20 win against the Giants. Eli Manning had 292 yards throwing with two touchdowns in the losing effort.

The Redskins meanwhile used a powerful rushing attack to thwart St. Louis comeback bid in Washington, winning 24-10 in Week 2.

New York will have to try to solve Washingtons strong two-headed rushing game in the Redskins-Giants match. Matt Jones had a career high 123 yards on the ground and two touchdowns against the Rams. The rookie had 28 yards rushing against Miami. Alfred Morris added 59 yards on 18 carries against St. Louis, after he rung up 107 yards rushing against Miami in Week 1. Quarterback Kirk Cousins was solid too, with 23-of-27 pass completions for 203 yards and a score against St. Louis.

New York has won four in a row in the Redskins-Giants series, including wins of 24-13 and 45-14 last season. New York has won 11 of the last 14 and 21 of the last 28 Redskins-Giants games. Washington last won a Redskins-Giants game at MetLife Stadium in 2011, 23-10.
