Indiana vs Duke Free NCAAB Pick

While some people are tempted to dismiss college basketball's made for TV challenge series, such the ACC-Big Ten Challenge, the chance to see rare matchups between traditional powers like Indiana and Duke make such challenges well worth it.

ESPN will have the Indiana-Duke game Wednesday from Cameron Indoor Stadium in Durham, N.C., at 9:15 p.m. Eastern to close out the three days and 14 games of the ACC-Big Ten Challenge on the ESPN networks.

The Blue Devils lead the all-time Indiana-Duke series, 4-3. The two teams have meet three times in NCAA Tournament games, with Indiana winning 88-82 in 1987 and 74-73 in 2002. The Blue Devils won the Indiana-Duke NCAA Tournament game in 1992, 81-78.

Both teams are expected to be headed back to the NCAA Tournament at the end of the 2015-2016 season, but Indiana has struggled a bit more than expected through the early portion of the season. Indiana won its first three games, but the Hoosiers had a dismal trip to the Maui Invitational, losing two out of three games to unranked teams, falling 82-78 against Wake Forest and 72-69 against UNLV.

The Blue Devils are off to a 5-1 start, with their only loss to then-#2 Kentucky, 74-63. Duke had a couple of closer than expected neutral site wins in late November, defeating Virginia Commonwealth, 79-71, and Georgetown, 86-84.

Indiana and Duke have had different levels of success over the years in the ACC-Big Ten Challenge. The Hoosiers are 6-8 all time in challenge games, including a 2-5 mark in true road games.

The Blue Devils meanwhile have an all-time 14-2 record in the ACC-Big Ten Challenge, giving them more wins than any other team from either conference in the history of the challenge. Besides Duke, only Wake Forest and Maryland have reached double digit wins in the challenge at 10 each. The Blue Devils are 6-0 in home games in the ACC-Big Ten Challenge.

Indiana and Duke have met each other in the ACC-Big Ten Challenge twice, with the Blue Devils winning both games. Duke won at home in 2006, 54-51, and won at Indiana, 75-67, in 2005.
