The Heat-Blazers game from the Rose Garden in Portland will begin at 10:30 p.m. Eastern Thursday on TNT. Another interesting matchup precedes the Heat-Blazers on TNT Thursday as Oklahoma City plays at Orlando at 8 p.m. Eastern.
Mavs vs Lakers - Los Angeles beat Dallas 73-70 at Staples last month, not very revenge for the Mavs sweeping them out of the West semifinals but a win that appeared to have the Lakers moving in the right direction.
The Lakers-Thunder game will pit two of the NBA’s most exciting players. Kobe Bryant leads the NBA in scoring at 29.0 points per game, while Oklahoma City’s Kevin Durant is quickly climbing the scoring charts, now sitting third in the league at 27.6 points per game. Durant had a 51-point game in an overtime win against Denver over the weekend.
Boston will enter the Celtics-Thunder game after a 2-1 start to the season, prior to a road game at Detroit on Tuesday and home games against Milwaukee on Wednesday and Chicago on Friday. The Celtics lost their first road game of the season at Cleveland, 95-87, on Oct. 27.
Oklahoma City also started the season 2-1, winning at home against Chicago (106-95) and at Detroit (105-104) before being blown out at home against Utah on Halloween (120-99). Before the Celtics-Thunder game, Oklahoma City will play at the LA Clippers on Wednesday and at Portland on Thursday.
The Grizzlies and Nets will play at 7:30 p.m. Eastern Wednesday from the Prudential Center in Newark, N.J. The NBA TV network will televise the Grizzlies-Nets game.
Memphis has been hovering around the .500 mark since a four-game losing streak in late January, and the Grizzlies will carry a 14-14 mark into a Tuesday’s game at home against Houston, before boarding a plane for Wednesday’s Grizzlies-Nets contest. ESPN will televise the first Suns-Lakers game from Staples Center in Los Angeles, beginning at 10:30 p.m. Eastern Friday. It will be game two of an ESPN NBA double-header, preceded by Dallas at Philadelphia.
The Suns and Lakers will actually play twice in three days, as Los Angeles will make a trip to Phoenix Sunday. After both starting the season with some poor performances, the Phoenix Suns and the Golden State Warriors will play Monday from the Oracle Arena in Oakland. NBA TV will televise the Suns-Warriors game nationally beginning at 10:30 p.m. Eastern. Golden State is a 4-point favorite.
The Suns and Warriors currently are the 12th and 13th place teams in the Western Conference standings. However, both teams are only 2 1/2 and 3 games out of the final playoff berth in the conference, so there’s still plenty of time for the Suns and Warriors to begin moving toward the middle of the Western Conference standings.
TNT will nationally televise the Mavericks-Lakers game from Los Angeles beginning at 10:30 p.m. Eastern. It will be the first of two straight games in the Staples Center for Dallas, who play at the LA Clippers Wednesday on ESPN.
After a brutal 1-4 start, which included an 18-point home loss to Denver and a 17-point loss at Minnesota, Dallas won five of its next six. Still, with an abbreviated NBA season, the Mavs won’t want to fall too far behind the other Western Conference leaders, making the Mavericks-Lakers game a key early contest.
Before the Mavericks vs Lakers game, Dallas faces home games against Milwaukee and Sacramento Friday and Saturday. During its recent hot streak, the Mavs have reached 90 points in all five wins, while scoring only 71 in the lone loss in that stretch, by a 22-point margin at San Antonio.
ESPN will nationally televise the Trail Blazers-Hawks game from Atlanta beginning at 8 p.m. Wednesday from Philips Arena. This will be the final game in a four-game home stretch for Atlanta.
Both the Trail Blazers and Hawks won seven of their first 10 games this season, climbing near the top of the Southeast Division for Atlanta and near the top of the Northwest Division for Portland.
TNT will televise the Lakers-Heat game from Miami, beginning at 8 p.m. Eastern. For the Los Angeles Lakers, it will represent their first trip out of the Pacific time zone this season. Miami hasn't quite dominated the NBA, as some expected it would before the season, but the Heat have a 43-17 record heading into a Thursday home game against Orlando. That's the second-best record in the Eastern Conference, just one game behind Boston.
Celtics vs Clippers 2/26/11 - There is no national television for the Celtics-Clippers game, but FSN Prime Ticket will have the regional telecast, beginning at 10:30 p.m. Eastern.

Heat vs Suns 12/23 - If ever an NBA team was going to be caught looking ahead in the regular season, the Miami Heat might be the team in their game Thursday at the Phoenix Suns. Orlando will push the Pistons to the limit and we would not be surprised if this series goes 7. Cavaliers vs Celtics - Boston was pushed to 7 games vs the Hawks losing all 3 in Atlanta. Cleveland is the defending East Champions and even though the Celtics have better talent the Cavs have Playoff experience.
