Although most NBA fans might be looking toward an NBA Finals rematch between Boston and Los Angeles, the Cleveland Cavaliers and San Antonio Spurs have put themselves in position to play spoilers.
The Cavaliers and Spurs will play Friday at 9:30 p.m. Eastern the second game of ESPN's NBA double-header. Detroit and Orlando will play the first game at 7 p.m.
Entering this week, Cleveland leads the Central Division by 16 games and is 0.5 games behind Boston in the race for the best record in the Eastern Conference. San Antonio has a 3-game lead in the Southwest Division and the Spurs have the second-best record in the Western Conference, 8 games behind the Los Angeles Lakers. The Cavaliers have the NBA's second-best record by percentage, while the Spurs have the fifth-best mark in the league.
Season Results: Before Friday's meeting with Cleveland, San Antonio will play home games Tuesday against Dallas and Wednesday against Portland. Entering this week, the Spurs have played only one home game since Jan. 23, playing 11 road games in that stretch. San Antonio managed to win seven of the 11 games away from home.
Cleveland, meanwhile, has won eight of its past 10 games, including four in row entering this week. The Cavaliers have won seven of their past nine road games, and they'll travel to Houston Thursday night on TNT before playing San Antonio Friday night. Cleveland also hosts Memphis Tuesday.

Surprisingly, Cleveland has had more balanced scoring of late, too. In the last six Cavalier games, LeBron James has only led the Cavaliers in scoring two times. Before that stretch, James led Cleveland in scoring in 15 of 16 games.
Against the Top 10 teams in the NBA by winning percentage, San Antonio is 6-9, and Cleveland is 7-5. The Lakers and Celtics this season have posted a 3-1 record against Cleveland. San Antonio has won two of its three games against the same two teams, though.

On the second night of back-to-back road games this season, Cleveland is 1-1 outright and ATS.
San Antonio has been strong ATS lately, posting an 8-2-1 ATS mark entering the week. In the Spurs seven home games since Jan. 1, they're 3-4 ATS. San Antonio has not been a home underdog since Nov. 14, when the Spurs upset Houston, 77-75.
In last season's Cavaliers-Spurs games, the two teams each won on the other's home floor. The Cavs, as a 7.5-point underdog, won 90-88 at San Antonio last season. In last season's game at Cleveland, San Antonio won 112-105, and the Spurs were a 3.5-point favorite.
