Cincinnati Bengals vs Pittsburgh Free NFL Week 10 Pick & Preview
NFL week 10 Sunday, Nov. 15 - 1 p.m. Eastern - CBS Cincinnati Bengals (6-2) at Pittsburgh Steelers (5-2)
Cincinnati's surprising run to the top of the AFC North Division has a chance to take the next step -- an actual divisional championship -- should Cincinnati win the Bengals at Steelers game Sunday. CBS will regionally televise the Bengals-Steelers game from Heinz Field in Pittsburgh at 1 p.m.
Cincinnati already owns a home win against Pittsburgh, as the Bengals defeated the Steelers, 23-20, Sept. 27. The Bengals are 4-0 against AFC North teams this season. Should Cincinnati pick up a win in Pittsburgh, the Bengals would have season sweeps over both the Steelers and Baltimore Ravens, giving the Bengals a key tiebreaker edge in the divisional race.
Since the loss to Cincinnati, Pittsburgh won four straight games leading into the Steelers Nov. 9 game at Denver.
Both the Bengals and Steelers are relying on solid quarterback play, strong rushing games, and good defensive efforts. Pittsburgh's Ben Roethlisberger threw for at least one touchdown in each of the Steelers first seven games, while Carson Palmer of the Bengals has thrown for a TD in each of Cincinnati's last seven games, including a five-touchdown effort against Chicago Oct. 25. Cincinnati's Cedric Benson has enjoyed a resurgence with the Bengals this season, rushing for six touchdowns and surpassing the 100-yard mark four times, while Steelers running back Rashard Mendenhall is averaging 5.4 yards per carry.
Heading into the Bengals-Steelers game, Cincinnati is 5-3 ATS this season, including 2-1 ATS on the road. More impressively, the Bengals are 5-0 ATS as an underdog this season, winning all five games outright.
Before Pittsburgh's game at Denver Monday (where the Steelers were a 1-point favorite), the Steelers were just 2-5 ATS this season. Pittsburgh is 2-2 ATS at home, and the defending Super Bowl champion Steelers have been favored in every game this season.
Cincinnati was a 3.5-point underdog in the first Bengals-Steelers game this season. The Sept. 27 win by the Bengals against the Steelers was Cincinnati's first win -- either outright or ATS -- against Pittsburgh since Sept. 24, 2006, a span of five straight losses.
